The Verdict
n8n is excellent for API-based workflows with a great visual builder. But here's the fundamental limitation: web APIs only exist when vendors provide them. n8n cannot automate desktop apps, legacy systems, or anything without an API. Mediar works at the OS level - we interact with applications directly, whether they have APIs or not.

Better Together
n8n and Mediar solve different problems - and many of our customers use both. n8n handles API-based workflows beautifully: connecting SaaS tools, triggering webhooks, orchestrating data flows. Mediar handles what APIs can't reach: SAP GUI, Oracle Forms, legacy EHRs, desktop Excel. Use n8n for your API layer, Mediar for your desktop layer. Best of both worlds.
